24 November, 2023On November 15, the first day of Gipuzkoa Ekin was held in Tabakalera, where UPTEK had the opportunity to present to the students of Gipuzkoa's Vocational Training Centers the projects of the Association and the initiatives of AFM Cluster in the field of talent. On this first day, the theme was technology and sport.
To begin with, BIC Gipuzkoa presented the SPORTEK HUB project, a space that connects all the actors of the sports industry, companies, entrepreneurs, R+D+i agents and acceleration and investment. Its objective is to promote a sports industry with high added value, fostering innovation in products and services.
Afterwards, Aritz Guinea, CEO & Co-Founder of the startup WELLK presented the collaborations that WELLK works with the municipalities of several municipalities, with the aim of promoting and encouraging physical activity, giving visibility to all services, public and private, with which the municipality has for the practice of sport.
Rakel Disur, founding partner of Oria Sport Wear, the Tolosa-based brand that manufactures T-shirts with innovative technology and built-in resistance for physical activity, also participated in the event.
Gipuzkoa EkinGipuzkoa Ekin is a joint initiative of TKNIKA, BIC Gipuzkoa and UPTEK that promotes awareness in the field of technological entrepreneurship among Gipuzkoa VET students. During four informative and experimental sessions, students can learn about various technologies, such as AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, 3D printing or virtual reality, and work in their practical field.
In addition, in a second phase, the presentation of entrepreneurship projects by students is promoted, among which the best ones are selected to support them in their initial development and arrival to the market.
