20 April, 2023Nuavis, a technology startup specialising in artificial intelligence, is launching the pilot of its project to conduct real-time monitoring of the transit of goods at a port terminal, as part of Bilbao Portlab.
The system proposed by Nuavis, based on artificial vision and automatic learning, will contribute to the Bilbao Portlab project, an initiative of the Bilbao Port Authority through Fundación Puerto y Ria de Bilbao, which was set up in 2019 with the purpose of forming a space in which to bring together the needs identified by the companies in our Port Community in order to shift towards a Ports 4.0 model, with the ideas and projects to be developed by entrepreneurs, startups, PhD students and researchers in our sector.
So, the Bilbao Port Innovation Centre has a co-working space for startups as well as a space for carrying out demonstrations, presentations and seminars. It also has an area designed to hosting client and supplier visits.
The mechanism for monitoring the transit of goods in real time allows for automatic detection of any collisions occurring during the process that could damage the goods, and keeps a historical record of the movements to ascertain their location based on a virtual replica of the terminal. In this way, the project contributes to the logistical efficiency of Bilbao Portlab in terms of infrastructure and digitalisation of processes and smart platforms.
Nuavis is dedicated to developing artificial vision projects for the industrial and food sector and has its own technology providing adapted solutions for needs relating to process automation, quality control, asset monitoring, production control, process guidance and supervision, etc. In this way it achieves higher levels of adaptability and optimisation in its developments than those that traditional integrators of third-party products can offer.
