18 July, 2024Julian Fernandez and Vicente Gonzalez Negro, CEO and CTO of FOSSA Systems, have been recognized in the list of “The 100 Entrepreneurs of Entrepreneurs 2024”, a list of the best entrepreneurs in Spain that are generating impact and employment.
FOSSA Systems has made significant advances in open source satellite software and hardware, enabling users to communicate with satellites in space from anywhere on the planet. Their open source contributions can be found on their GitHub pages, where they collaborate with software developers, telecommunications engineers and electrical engineers from around the world.
In just three years, the startup has emerged as a leader in an expanding market, with 10 billion connected devices that will grow to more than 25 billion by 2025. With a team of 25 professionals, which it plans to double by 2025, FOSSA was the European company with the most nanosatellite launches in 2022 and has so far launched 17 satellites of its own. Its constellation of 80 satellites will make it possible to connect millions of devices to a global LPWAN network in real time, verticalizing manufacturing, space operations and ground services. In this way, Fossa Systems is able to offer comprehensive remote crop monitoring solutions. The initiative is the brainchild of Julian Fernandez, CEO, and Vicente Gonzalez, CTO.
FOSSA Systems has received other awards for its achievements from various entities, such as being named Best Startup of 2022 by El Español, Most Innovative Startup by the newspaper Expansión, Best Startup by Alhambra Ventures and awards from the FEINDEF Foundation for entrepreneurship in the field of Defense and Security.
