10 July, 2024AEIRIOJA, the automotive cluster of La Rioja, celebrated last Thursday July 4 its XV Anniversary in which two startups associated with UPTEK were awarded: Acceleration Robotics and Savvy Data Systems. Acceleration Robotics was the winner of the first prize of the IV Edition of the AutoStartup Contest, and Savvy Data Systems won the second prize.
The AutoStartup project of the Automotive Cluster of La Rioja, based on its main function of providing added value to its industrial partners, promotes open innovation to put technology startups in contact with manufacturing companies in La Rioja. This relationship is generated by organizing visits to industrial companies in the Cluster, which show their production processes and present the challenges detected, giving rise to a subsequent study by the startups to detect the main areas in which they can provide added value.
After this contact, the startups presented their projects to the competition, among which three were highlighted at the Gala of the XV anniversary of AEIRIOJA, the first two being the projects of ACCELERATION ROBOTICS and SAVVY DATA SYSTEMS.
According to data from the Cluster, the automotive sector in La Rioja employs more than 8,000 people, both directly and indirectly, and generates a turnover of more than 600 million euros, which represents 8% of the GDP of the Autonomous Community.
