ACCELERATION ROBOTICS LAUNCHES ROBOTCORE® COLLABORATIVE, A SOLUTION THAT REDEFINES HUMAN-ROBOT INTERACTION

10 October, 2024
Acceleration Robotics, a leading robotic semiconductor startup based in the Basque Country, has announced the launch of ROBOTCORE® Collaborative, an innovative solution that increases safety and efficiency in human-robot interaction. This technology, based on FPGA and hardware acceleration, enables real-time, dynamic collision prevention, creating safer collaborative environments.

Designed for industrial and medical environments, as well as for logistics and development, ROBOTCORE® Collaborative improves coexistence between robots and humans, eliminating aggressive movements thanks to an advanced control system based on artificial potential fields. In addition, its compatibility with ROS 2 facilitates integration into existing systems.

“ROBOTCORE® Collaborative represents a before and after in collaborative robotics,” said Victor Mayoral Vilches, founder of Acceleration Robotics. “Thanks to its deterministic performance and hardware acceleration, we transform how humans and robots work together.”

With response times up to 29.49 times faster than traditional systems, this technology ensures accuracy and speed, reducing risks and improving productivity in multiple sectors.

This project seeks to address one of the main challenges in collaborative robotics: safety in shared environments. Using multiple cameras and depth sensors, the system monitors the workspace in real time, allowing robots to respond accurately and quickly to changes in their environment. In addition, its versatile design makes it ideal for demanding applications, such as medical care or advanced research, where accuracy and safety are essential.
